Midland Steel Traders Limited was incorporated as a steel stockholder by Ken Whitehall in 1963 in Walsall. After moving to the North East in 1966 the Whitehall family gained their experience in manufacturing undercarriage at Raine Engineering at Swalwell on the banks of the Tyne.

After leaving Raine's in 1971 Ken, his son Paul and his son in law David Hunt opened a service centre in Washington, County Durham with a Bignozzi Track Press to service the local plant hire and civil engineering companies. MST was born and as a wholly owned family business has, over the years, proved its worth in supplying high quality products and service throughout the UK and the ever expanding World markets.

Paul and John Whitehall control the company and the second generation in Rory Whitehall and Alex Roberts (Paul's son and son in law) are continuing to grow the business into new markets throughout the world.

With three service centres in Birtley, Airdrie and Redditch MST can offer products renowned for quality.

As UK AUTHORISED Distributors for BERCO, ESCO.COMBI, HENSLEY,SWEDISH STEEL AND EXPANDER MST offer the right product to suit all applications.

As manufacturers of bespoke Hi Spec Buckets MST can offer the highest quality buckets for the hardest rock application fitted to some of the worlds largest excavators and loaders.The largest manufactured so far being a 35 cu metre rock bucket weighing 44 Tonne!
